Our parties are the kind of parties you like to have in your own living room, with the music you like to hear coming off your turntables, with the kind of people you like to have dancing on your coffee table, but with speakers so loud they would get you arrested. All this but without the clean-up!  They are parties that you can depend on for amazing music, cool people and a great vibe. No matter who's DJing - from local favorites to the internationally known - the music will rock.

We are people who are turned off by Boston's glut of pretentious hip-hop top 40 dance clubs, where the standard dance move greeting is the bump-n-grind. We are looking for people who are tired of those Boston's dance music institutions that are far behind the cutting-edge and pass-off the same monotonous music lacking any significant emotional or stylistic variation. Sadly people like this so often leave Boston for greener nightlife pastures.

We hope the people who come to parties to leave thinking how refreshing that was!  We hope they will tell their friends that there is a spot in Boston were they can meet other funky, fun, hip boys/girls without having to move on to cultural Mecca's in NYC, Berlin, Montreal, London….If their parting thought is "I'm so excited to have met that rad girl or cute boy and ...damn ...the music was really f'ing good!" while humming the tune of some synthed out disco or electro jam they've never heard before, we've done our job.

Music is the background to a great night and is absolutely a priority for us.  RLS's inspirations are the electro and disco communities such as those in The Hague today.  The artists in this community are is resurrecting and expanding on early 80's synth driven electro-pop, italo disco, as well as the more jacking acid house styles of the earliest Chicago clubs that spawned the club scene in the UK and Europe 15 years ago.  We are also strongly influenced by today's glitchy minimal techno/house sounds out of the Midwest and Germany with all their surprising pop and funk sensibilities.

The program will contrast these sounds from party-to-party, DJ-to-DJ, and sometimes song-to-song because the contrast brings-out what is great about the sounds.  We think this philosophy will make the emotional content and range of the music much more fun and striking than the status quo of Boston nightlife.   Expect some curveballs as you might find yourself dancing to electro one minute; early eighties synth-pop or disco tune the next, and shaking your booty at the bar to a minimal techno set you never knew you would like.
